LVMOC 2012 Elections
The Call for Nominations for the LVMOC 2012 Board started Monday October 10, 2011 and will end on October 29th.
There are five board positions, which also serve as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Governor.
Voting will begin November 1, and continue until 1:00 AM on Saturday, November 11.
Nominations may be submitted to the Judges via e-mail sent to election@lvmoc.net.
The two Judges of Election will receive nominations, contact those nominated to confirm their nomination, and post the results on October 29th.
How to nominate a member for office:
1. Paid members may nominate themselves or any other member in good standing for any office.
2. The nominee must be a paid club member for at least one year and must be at least 18 years of age. Miata ownership is NOT a requirement, however the nominee must reside in a household where there is at least one Miata, and must be active in the club.
3. Ask the person you intend to nominate if he or she is interested in running for that office. Do that via PM , email, phone or personal contact. All nominees must agree to accept a nomination.
4. Once the person agrees to accept the nomination, email the Judges of Election at election@lvmoc.net stating which member you are nominating and the office for which they agreed to run. You must provide your full name and forum name, if you have one, as well as that of the candidate to the Judges. You must include the nominee's email address so the Judges will have the email address to confirm the nomination.
5. The Judges of Election will verify the membership of both the nominating individual and nominee and will e-mail the nominee to confirm acceptance. The Judges will also reply to the person nominating to verify receipt of the nomination.
What should Nominees do?
1. A nominee may accept only one nomination for office.
2. Upon formally accepting the nomination, the nominee shall submit a picture and short biography that is car/office related. The information will be posted on the Forum so that members can link names and faces.
3. Only the nominee’s name will appear on the actual ballot.
4. Candidates will be announced on the forum on November 1, after which campaigning may take place.
6. Candidates will be notified of the results by email after the election by the Judges of Election.
Deadlines:
Nominations will take place starting October 10, 2011 and end October 29th.
Nominations close at 1:00 AM which means that the nominee must accept the nomination by 1:00 AM Eastern Time on October 29, 2011, and the nomination must be received by the Judges prior to that time.
VOTING: ONLY PAID MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR OFFICE AND ONLY PAID MEMBERS AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2011 ARE ELIGABLE TO VOTE.
Those wishing a paper ballet may request one from the Judges by contacting them via PM, Email or telephone with your name and address. The ballot must be returned by the close of the election.
Voting period will commence on November 1 and will close on November 11 at 1:00 AM Eastern Time.
Regular mail ballots will be issued to members who do not have email and must be returned by November 11. Paper ballets will be added to the e-mail voting results.
The new Board will be announced in the forum immediately after the candidates have been informed of the results.
