Specifically looking for advice from a litigator.

The Equifax situation has me fuming and I would like advice on what my options are, legally.

Thanks.

Lawyers drive Porsches.  Laughing Out Loud  Just do a search for "Equifax class action lawsuit" or something similar.  Here's some links I found after a quick search.  There's plenty more links out there.

I have little interest in a class action suit.

What am I going to do with a check for $30 and year's subscription of credit monitoring?

This is going to haunt me for the REST OF MY LIFE.  Reparations are in order...

IANAL but have worked in law for 35+ years.  Unfortunately, not in that area.

Probably your best bet is to contact the Northampton County Bar Association lawyer referral service in Easton and tell them you're looking for someone to help you with that situation. That will get you an appointment, at a *very* reduced rate, with someone who could better advise you. Or at least tell you who else to contact!

Thanks Iva!

So, yesterday, the other shoe dropped. There was fraudulent activity on one of my credit cards.

Fred we all are in the same boat - I just got a bunch of post cards about the class action law suits

A couple of things you can do is call the three Credit Bureaus and put a credit freeze on your Social Security Number for a year free !

This will require the three credit Bureaus to call you and confirm with that you actual applied for a loan or credit card of any kind

So far in the last couple of years the following have been hacked that have affected us

HomeDepot

Saint Luke's Hospital

Equifax
