I have a 1999 NB that the passenger shoulder belt keeps getting tight as we drive or the passenger moves.  It will not release unless you unhook the lap belt ,  push the belt back then pull it forward.  But then it will tighten up again as we drive.  Any thoughts?

Could the belt be twisted somewhere you can't see?

Here's a link to a service manual: http://www.mellens.net/mazda/

That's the best source of information, and maybe you can find something helpful.

Mike,

I checked the belt is not twisted as far as I can tell. Thanks for the info!
