I'll be there, but give me an street address. as I don't know the area well. Iva, is the trailer a space issue?, if so, Pat's house has a very large parking area too.
slow-eddie
Well, my parking area is not as large as Pat's but there is room for your trailer. We can even put it on the grass next to the garage if it's in the way on the driveway.

And I think my house is a bit closer to the Microtel than Pat's is. image We're at the opposite end of Catasauqua Road from the motel.

Iva, give me a PM with your street address. I'm heading back from a PDA event on the 14th at Pocono, and will be back in Allentown area around 6:30 PM. I'll mapquest directions from the track right to your door. Also, a phone # for you might be useful. PM please, as we don't want everyone to know your info.
OK, Brent said that the best way to head out would be the turnpike (quickest) so Sharon and I will meet them for breakfast at Tilghman street around 7:300 AM. There is a diner there - but I don't have the name.

Not sure who else want's to caravan up, but we should finish breakfast and leave around 8:30.
Do you mena the diner at the intersection of Rt 309 and Tilghman? That's not too far from the turnpike entrance???

Dave, you should know me by now, I only go where Sharon tells me to. When she gets together with Jean, together, they tell Brent and I where to go. So I'm not sure what diner. Maybe one of them will read this post and let us both know? image

I would have liked to leave the day before though image

Someone just threw this out as something to do while in the area.

While we're so up there in God's country, the Cherry Springs State Park Dark Sky observatory area is just a 45 minute drive from Wellsboro according to Tim the Ranger (who lives in Wellsboro).

Here are some websites with information:
http://www.upstateastro.org/stars/cssp.html
http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/ ... x#contacts

Tim said the moonrise isn't until around 11:40 on the 15th so it would probably be dark enough by 9:30 to really get a look at A LOT of stars (weather permitting) and at this place there are apparently always people around willing to share their equipment. I know that some of the folks in the club are star geeks too. Apparently it gets really COLD up there even in the summer at the summit.

Tim the ranger cautions that night driving in Potter County requires that you keep a sharp eye out for DEER!!!!!

Directions to Cherry Springs are - 6 west to Galeton(about 23 miles) Left on West Branch Road around 12 miles until the intersection with Route 44 in Cherry Springs. About 40-45 minutes.

Whatcha think?

We are going RIGHT past that on our ride. Could be worth a visit at some point. I wasn't planning it on this run though.

Is it legal to quote ones own post?

Anyway, the women have assured me that this is the last change in our plans. We are now leaving on FRIDAY! Sorry for the confusion guys and gals, but please continue your plans to meet and drive up as a group - we hope to see you all there on Saturday.
